Located at 500 Valle Vista, Athens, Texas, Green Oaks's professional and compassionate staff provides around-the-clock medical and nursing care in a comfortable and caring environment that centers around its residents. Green Oaks offers exceptional post-acute short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term care.
Physicians Home Health Care
We offer a fully tailored activities programme, created around each individual Resident to help them to be physically active, mentally stimulated and socially connected. We engage with our local community inside and outside of the Home, offering weekly tours around the island to points of interest and events either with one member of staff or as a group using our company minibus. We also welcome local schools and community groups into our settings for regular visits.
We encourage Residents to personalise their room with their own pictures, furniture and ornaments for familiarity and to create a homely space that they feel at ease with. A large dining room and spacious conservatory-style seating area opens onto attractive garden and sunny patio, providing Residents with a home from home environment. The Home has been designed and styled in accordance with Alzheimer’s Society guidelines.

This facility should not have a 5 star rating but instead should have at least a 6 star rating. The building and furnishings are old but the care is far more than anyone can expect from any nursing facility. My wife was there for about a little over a month and the staff cared for her as they would for their own mother. When she passed away our entire family surrounded her along with the aids and nurses that took care of her. I met the owner and am convinced that he is the reason for the quality of care that they deliver. If ever I know of anyone needing these type of services I would highly recommend The New Glen Oaks Nursing Home for outstanding care and compassion.
All of our Homes have a dining room where residents if they so choose, can enjoy fresh, seasonal, local produce. Our menu is changed routinely to take advantage of the various festivities of the season and always includes a dish of the day with an additional choice. Of course, any special dietary needs can always be catered for and requests are encouraged. Our Head Chef will regularly visit the Residents, to enquire whether they have enjoyed their meal and discuss suggestions for the forthcoming menus. Nestled in the tranquil countryside of St Saviours, Green Oaks Nursing Home is a beautiful adapted property with purpose-built facilities for 17 Residents. With accommodation options ranging from large spacious single rooms to self-contained supported living apartments, Green Oaks offers a host of choices for different individuals.
